Jump To and last pane
Jump To is one searchable list of the panes on all your connected computers, with agents that need you at the top. The last pane key next to it takes you back to the pane you were in before. Both are there so you can move between agents without going back to the host screen.
Open Jump To
- On the host screen, tap Search panes and agents.
- In a terminal or chat, tap the pane title at the top. It has a small down arrow next to it.
- In a terminal, tap the first key on the left of the key bar, Switch workspace or pane. In chat, the same button is the first one under the message box. Its red badge counts blocked agents.
Tap Done to close it.
What it lists
Jump To covers every computer that is connected and has its Herdr panes loaded, with the computer you are on listed first. Computers that are not connected do not appear. If none are, it says No connected hosts yet.
With an empty search, the list has these sections:
- Needs you: blocked agents.
- Finished: agents that are done.
- Working: agents mid-turn.
- Workspaces: every workspace, which you tap to expand into its tabs and panes. The workspace with the pane you are in opens by itself.
When you have more than one computer connected, rows also show which computer they belong to. The pane you are in has a check mark.
The filter at the top narrows the list to All, Needs You, Working or Finished.
Search
Type in Search to match across computer names, workspace and tab names, pane titles, agent names, folders and pane ids. Matching is fuzzy, so a few letters in order are enough, and the best matches come first. Press Return to open the top result.
Open, show or close
- Tap a pane to open it, in chat or terminal depending on what you last used for it.
- Long-press a pane for Open, Show on computer and Close pane….
- Swipe left on a pane or workspace row to reveal Close. Melta asks before closing, and warns you when an agent there is still working or waiting for input. Long-pressing a workspace also offers to close it.
Closing ends the processes on the computer. A workspace with linked worktree workspaces cannot be closed from the phone; close that group from Herdr on the computer.
Last pane
The ⇄ key sits next to the Jump To key, in the terminal key bar and in the chat message box. Tap it to go back to the pane you were in before, like alt-tab for your agents.
It picks the most recent other pane Melta showed you that still exists, on any connected computer. If there is none, it goes to the pane focused in Herdr on the computer. The pane reopens in the view you last used for it, chat or terminal. When there is nowhere to go back to, the key is dimmed.
Melta keeps this history while the app is running. It starts fresh when the app restarts.
