meltaPrivacy Policy
Melta connects your phone straight to your own computer. We keep as little as we can, and none of your code.
What stays on your phone
- SSH keys and passwords. Stored in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore. They are never sent to us.
- Your terminal and agent sessions. The app opens SSH from your phone to your computer. Terminal output, agent conversations and files travel only between those two.
What our server keeps
- Your account: email address, the name you give, and a hashed password. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we keep the account identifier they give us instead of a password.
- Your computers: the name, address, port and user name you enter for each one, how it signs in (key or password, never the secret itself), your notification choices, and a notification token for the Melta plugin.
- Your devices: the push notification token, platform and device name, so we can send notifications.
- Notification events: when an agent is blocked or finishes, the Melta plugin on your computer sends us the computer, pane name, agent name, status and part of that pane's screen. We keep up to 300 characters of it: the question the agent is asking, or the start of its last message when it finishes. We use it for the notification and the app's recent activity list.
- App settings you choose to sync, such as your key bar and prefix key.
Who else is involved
- Push notifications are delivered through Expo's push service to Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- Sign in with Apple and Google are handled by Apple and Google; we receive the identity they confirm.
- Hosting: our server and database run on Hetzner in Helsinki, Finland.
We don't sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking in the app or on this site.
Keeping and deleting
Removing a computer in the app deletes it and its notification history. To delete your account and everything linked to it, use the account deletion form or email privacy@getmelta.app from the address you signed up with.
